WATCH LIVE: Gov. Little to hold news conference on COVID response at noon today

Gov. Brad Little

BOISE — Gov. Brad Little will address Idahoans about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic at noon Thursday.
The last time Little addressed Idahoans was four weeks ago when he moved the Gem State back to Stage 2 of his Idaho Rebounds Plan. During the last four weeks, COVID-19 cases have continued to rise, and an increasing number of deaths are being reported statewide and in eastern Idaho. Recoveries also continue to be on the rise statewide.
A number of larger cities — including Boise, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Rexburg, considered ordinances or resolutions to enforce limited social gatherings or mask mandates in support of the governor’s plan. Of those previously listed, only Rexburg didn’t move forward with any action.
Idaho has also seen protests and rallies in its larger communities. The most recent local rally was at the Bonneville County Courthouse in Idaho Falls on Saturday. Another large rally in Boise this week garnered national attention after protestors went to the homes of Central District Health’s board members.
The conference will be streamed to the public online in this news story, on the EastIdahoNews.com Facebook page, or on Idaho Public Television.
