IDAHO FALLS — With the 2020 general election Tuesday, time is quickly winding down to make your voice heard.
Idaho voters had until Oct. 23 to request an absentee ballot from their county clerk’s office. Early voting ended Oct. 30 and local counties are gearing up for in-person voting with several polling places.
Polling locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., which is the deadline to get your ballot turned in.
To register to vote, you need to have a valid photo ID and show proof of your current residence. This can be done by showing mail that’s dated on or before Oct. 3 to show proof of 30 days at your address or you can also provide your driver’s license.
To learn more about voting identification requirements, click here or contact your county clerk’s office if you have questions.
More information on where and when to vote can be found below.
Fremont County
Fremont County polling places can be found here.
Absentee ballots can be placed in a drop off box on the west entrance of the Fremont County Courthouse at 151 West 1st North or at the Ashton city building at 714 Main Street.
Madison County

Madison County strongly suggests that a person votes with the absentee ballot that was sent to them. People are welcome to go into the clerk’s office at 134 East Main Street in Rexburg, complete their ballot there and hand it in. Absentee ballots can also be dropped off at a ballot drop box before the polls close at 8 p.m.
Jefferson County
Polling locations in Jefferson County can be viewed here.
People can vote their ballot and turn it in at the clerk’s office at 210 Courthouse Way, Suite 100 in Rigby. If you received an absentee ballot but want to vote in person, you must bring your absentee ballot with you to the polls. That ballot will be spoiled and a new one created.
Bonneville County
To find Bonneville County polling spots, click here.
Those with an absentee ballot will need to bring the ballot into the Bonneville County election office at 825 Shoup Avenue in Idaho Falls before 8 p.m. on Election Day.
If you are sick or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, call (208) 529-1363 to find out how you can still vote.
Bannock County
Bannock County polling locations can be found here.
Those with an absentee ballot will need to turn the ballot into the election office at 141 North 6th Avenue in Pocatello, not their polling place. If you wish to vote in person, bring your absentee ballot to your polling location, where polling workers can spoil the ballot and issue a new one.
Bingham County
Polling places in Bingham County can be viewed here.
Those with an absentee ballot must take it to the Bingham County Courthouse at 501 North Maple Street in Blackfoot. There is a dropbox outside and inside the courthouse.
