UPDATE: Bingham County school evacuates, kids expected to be back in class Tuesday

UPDATE:
BLACKFOOT — Groveland Elementary School north of Blackfoot evacuated students Thursday after smoke was noticed in the school.
The smoke was not the result of a fire, Blackfoot School District 55 spokeswoman Ronna Park told EastIdahoNews.com. It was produced by an HVAC motor that had seized.
“Out of an abundance of caution, all the students were evacuated to the LDS church across the street,” Park said. “We had buses and parents come pick all the children up.”
An investigation is ongoing to discover the cause of the motor seizure and make repairs. With the school already scheduled to a four-day weekend, in observance of Presidents Day, the district expects all repairs to be done in time for the students to return to class safely on Tuesday.

BLACKFOOT — Groveland Elementary School north of Blackfoot is evacuating and administrators are asking parents to pick up their kids.
EastIdahoNews.com called the school a little before 10 a.m. Thursday. A woman in the office said the kids are being kept at the church across the street and parents can meet their kids there.
She said the school was filled with smoke, but declined to offer additional information.
