REXBURG — The Madison County Fairgrounds in Rexburg will again be home to the Rexburg Farmer’s Market.
This is the 15th season for the farmer’s market in Rexburg and their third year at the fairgrounds. With almost 100 vendors signed up so far, there’s sure to be something to please everyone.

“We are starting out super-strong,” Jamie Ashcraft, one of the market’s organizers, told EastIdahoNews.com.
Some vendors will be familiar to regular market-goers and Rexburg residents. Caramel Tree and Grandma Twilla’s fudge will once again sell tasty treats. La Mexicana will be making an appearance. So will Fairland Lemonade and Treat Parlor.
New this year will be Transylvania Treats from Ammon. According to the description on the market’s website, the treats are made from a sweet dough rolled onto a wooden rod. It’s then rolled in sugar and “slowly cook it over an open fire in front of our customers.” The tasty-sounding concoctions are a common treat in the Hungarian region of eastern Europe, where the vendors are from.
They’ll be joined by fellow newcomers The White Barn Gluten Free Treats. As the name suggests, this vendor sells made-from-scratch, home-style, gluten-free desserts and treats. “We use all gluten-free ingredients,” their description said. They are not certified gluten-free. However, they “maintain a gluten-free environment and kitchen.”
Ashcraft is especially excited about having more agriculture vendors this year. More local farmers have signed up this year, and “it’s starting to feel more like a traditional farmer’s market,” she laughed. Though, she did note that produce options will be limited at the beginning of the season.
“Watch for more produce at the end of June and into July,” she said.
Although there have been beef and jerky vendors in past years, Ashcraft said they are excited to offer a wide variety of meats this year. There will be vendors specializing in chicken, lamb and even yak.

Because the 12th is the beginning of Mother’s Day weekend, the market will be giving away flowers to the first 100 moms through the gates. However, Ashcraft pointed out that every weekend will be an event this season.

“We’re working on a timeline of scheduled events,” she said. “There will be a different business sponsoring a different event every week.”
For example, Madison Armory will have a Nerf gun shooting range available on May 18th.
There will be the usual (and sometimes unusual) “fabulous artisans” with their fun creations, as well. From soaps to flowers to jewelry, to art and photography — there’s bound to be something that catches your eye.

The Rexburg Farmer’s Market is sponsored by Madison Armory and Idaho Central Credit Union, as well as Summit Spine and Sport Chiropractic. The market’s first day will be Friday, May 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ashcraft would like to remind people that there is parking available. If there’s no rodeo, customers can park around the back. Otherwise, there’s room across the street. To learn more about the market, visit their website.
