FBI seeks Montana man after altercation with Indian Affairs officer

BILLINGS, Montana (AP) —The FBI is seeking a 36-year-old Montana man following a weekend shooting on the Crow Indian Reservation that authorities said left two people including a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer with injuries.
Darnell Lee Notafraid is wanted in the Sunday altercation in Lodge Grass, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the Wyoming state line, FBI spokesperson Sandra Yi Barker said.
Authorities previously said the man involved in the altercation with the officer was shot. Barker said Notafraid’s condition was unknown and he remained at large Wednesday morning.
Officials have not said how the BIA officer was injured or provided any other details about the encounter.
Notafraid, a member of the Crow Tribe, is described as 5 feet, 6 inches ( 1.7 meters ) tall, 160 pounds (73 kilograms) with brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his chest, finger, left hand, and right arm.
