Adobe stock image PALISADES — A local coroner has identified a man who died over the weekend in a head-on crash involving a snowplow near Palisades Reservoir. Bonneville County Coroner Rick Taylor said the man was Matthew Ishino, 66, of Shelley. He died at the scene due to traumatic injuries, Taylor said. RELATED | 1 dead, 1 hospitalized in 2-vehicle crash near Palisades It happened on Saturday, Dec. 14, after 2:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 26 at milepost 391. Idaho State Police responded to the two-vehicle crash. Ishino was reportedly driving a 2018 Jeep Renegade eastbound on US-26. ISP said the Jeep Renegade crossed the center line around milepost 391, hitting a 2020 Freight 114SD snowplow driving westbound. A 48-year-old man from Swan Valley drove the snowplow. ISP did not say if he suffered any injuries. Ishino received critical injuries and died at the scene, ISP said. His passenger, a 67-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
