A Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!
The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many individuals in our community as he can.
Marva Jean is a wonderful member of the Aberdeen community. Twenty-nine years ago, she lost her daughter in a car crash who left behind two children. Marva Jean took in those children and raised them.
She is very active in the community and volunteers wherever she can. She is the president of the American Legion Auxiliary and helped raise money for playground equipment at the city park. She also recently helped organize a memorial of past and present Aberdeen City residents and veterans at the park.
Two months ago, Marva Jean was told that she needed heart surgery and she was given a 40% chance of survival. She wasn’t sure whether to have the surgery but knew that her family and husband of 55 years needed her to live as long as she could. After a lot of prayer, she decided to have the surgery and made it through with flying colors.
Marva Jean needs her bathroom redone as the pipes from the tub are leaking downstairs. They have a bucket catching the dripping water and since she has gotten home from the hospital, it’s been hard to get in and out of the shower.
Secret Santa knew he could help and asked the East Idaho News elves to visit Aberdeen with an early Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see the surprise!
