RIGBY — The first Rigby Special Games were held this past week, providing special needs students with a unique opportunity to participate in sports in a safe and supportive environment. The event, which invited students from grades K-12, saw a total of 50 participants. In addition to the athletes, the entire event was organized and run by 50-60 peer tutors and mentors from Rigby High School and Rigby Middle School. This remarkable initiative allowed students to showcase their unique talents and spirit, while also fostering a sense of unity, support, and celebration within the community. The Rigby Special Games not only highlighted the abilities and determination of the participants but also highlighted the importance of inclusivity and community support in creating a positive and empowering experience for all involved. Rigby Special Games will become a tradition moving forward. It is planned to host two events a year. One in the fall, and one in the spring. Rigby Special Games. | Courtesy photo.
