Known for its beautiful summer nights, American Falls’ ‘Music in the Park’ has become the gathering place for great live music, food and small-town camaraderie on Thursday evenings for 11 years. | Courtesy photo AMERICAN FALLS — Summer evenings in American Falls are getting even sweeter with the return of the Music in the Park concert series to the MIP Park Pavilion. The free weekly concert series, which has become a cherished tradition for the past 11 years, kicks off Thursday. It will offer live music by Hillbilly deLux, local food and a laid-back atmosphere under the trees. Started by community organizer Tammy Ramsey, who is president of Music in the Park, the event takes place every Thursday from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. It brings neighbors, friends, and visitors together for a night of community and entertainment. Each week features a different band and a rotating selection of local vendors. Ramsey said this year’s event will feature six new bands, including the Nashville-based David Young & the Interstate Kings. Ramsey heard the band while in Nashville and was impressed by their music. She ultimately met with the band members and, through a collaboration with Stephanie Palagi, president of Historic Downtown Pocatello, will host the band at both Pocatello’s Revive at 5 and American Falls’ Music in the Park. It’s about creating a space where the community can come together and enjoy something special.” Bring your friends, your lawn chairs, your appetite and your love of live music.
