The free weekly concert series, which has become a cherished tradition for the past 11 years, kicks off Thursday. It will offer live music by Hillbilly deLux, local food and a laid-back atmosphere under the trees. Started by community organizer Tammy Ramsey, who is president of Music in the Park, the event takes place every Thursday from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. It brings neighbors, friends, and visitors together for a night of community and entertainment. Each week features a different band and a rotating selection of local vendors. Ramsey said this year’s event will feature six new bands, including the Nashville-based David Young & the Interstate Kings. Ramsey heard the band while in Nashville and was impressed by their music. She ultimately met with the band members and, through a collaboration with Stephanie Palagi, president of Historic Downtown Pocatello, will host the band at both Pocatello’s Revive at 5 and American Falls’ Music in the Park.
