A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out. Every day, from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise and today we’re visiting a special lady named Rebecca. In 2014, she was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer that spread into her uterus. Shortly after that, she was diagnosed with lupus. In 2020 the doctors found a 12.9 mm kidney stone and performed a lithotripsy that failed. In 2021, that failed procedure resulted in emergency surgery. After the operation, she went into septic shock and ended up having a septic stroke. After being released from the hospital, she was her strong, stubborn self and was back to work. But at the end of 2022, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The beginning of 2023 she had a total mastectomy. With that procedure many complications happened and she needed additional procedures. In June of this year, Rebecca was in a severe car crash on the way to Utah to see Blink-182 that totaled her car. It was not her fauly and she ended up needing a 90% reconstruction surgery on her shoulder. She still rode all the way to Utah and was determined to see Blink-182 for her daughter. Through it all, Rebecca still manages to work hard, laugh, enjoy her family and friends and be the absolutely amazing person she is. Rebecca touches everyone’s heart. Secret Santa asked us to go visit Rebecca and bring her an early Christmas gift. Check out the surprise in the video player above! The post She was sitting at her desk when we walked in with an incredible gift from a Secret Santa appeared first on East Idaho News.
