Shaun Ellsworth has been named new Firth boys basketball head coach. | Courtesy photo. FIRTH – Shaun Ellsworth is the new head boys basketball coach at Firth, replacing longtime coach Scott Adams. Ellsworth was a member of Firth’s 2007 state championship team coached by Adams and has been a varsity assistant and JV coach with the Cougars’ program. “Shaun is a great hire and the right decision to continue the tradition of excellence in Firth boys basketball,” Adams said in a text message. Adams remains as the school’s athletic director. He retired from coaching following 19 years as Firth head coach over two stints and won seven state titles.
