Courtesy photo RIGBY – An early morning fire destroyed a Rigby home. It happened around 2 a.m. at 200 East and 1st South off ID Highway 48, according to Jefferson County’s Central Fire District Chief Nic White. The cause of the blaze has not been determined, but White tells EastIdahoNews.com it started in the attic. “It spread through the roof fairly quick. We had to pull all the ceiling down to access the fire,” White says. Firefighters had it knocked out in about 15 minutes. No one was inside at the time, so no one was hurt. The home is no longer livable, White says, but it can be repaired. He estimates the cost in damages somewhere between $150,000 and $200,000. In an email to EastIdahoNews.com, Janiah Keeler says this was her dad’s house. He lost everything in the fire and has no insurance. “I will post my Venmo (in the graphic) below and any help would be much appreciated!” Loveland says.
