Elliott with 2 T’s from season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be at The Gem off 1st Street on Saturday, June 28. The event is called the “Pink Pony Pride Party.” Click here for ticket information. It costs $25. The show is hosted by Miss Jay and Tauri Z. “Elliott with 2 T’s is coming from Las Vegas, Nevada (and is) a professional dancer. I wanted to get somebody from TV that knows how to entertain,” said event organizer Jay Kilpatrick, also known as Miss Jay. Kilpatrick is a local drag performer who has been entertaining for over 22 years. He said this show would be a safe place for the community to go for an after-pride party. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 10 p.m. Miss Jay. | Courtesy Jay Kilpatrick RELATED | Popular reality TV drag queen to perform at Pocatello night club If you’ve never been to a drag show, Kilpatrick said it’s a lot of performing, dancing, lip-syncing, and celebrity impersonations, along with comedy. The owners of the Gem stress this is an 18+ event. He says they strive to make everyone feel secure at the event. “It makes a safe place for LGBTQ to feel like they are not alone. It just gives them a place to be who they are without having somebody say something really horrible to them if that makes sense,” Kilpatrick said. It will be the next day, on Sunday, June 29. Doors open at 11 a.m. and bingo starts at noon. Elliott with 2 T’s will be performing at it as well. It costs $15, and this is a family event. “We keep it kid-friendly, especially for a Pride event. If you don’t want your kids to see it, then you just don’t go, but I have no problem with people bringing their kids along because I know how to be respectful,” Kilpatrick said. Bee’s Knees will be catering both events, and there will be guest performers. Kilpatrick invites people to come out, support local drag performers, and have a great experience. CLARIFICATION: The article has been updated with information from the venue owners. The drag show on Saturday is for adults, the bingo is for families.
