E.R. Pollock, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, was working around cars at a gravel pit near Marion in Cassia County when the accident happened. Pollock was trying to get into a car, and his leg came in contact with the wheels, which threw him down. He was rushed to Burley for emergency treatment. Dr. Cooper, of Burley, and Dr. Reins, of Oakley, amputated the mangled limb close to the thigh. After the surgery, Pollock was reported to be resting well, and the article said he would “survive the shock.” 1926-1950 POCATELLO — A typewriting contest was held in Pocatello and representatives from local schools competed in it, The Rigby Star reported on May 29, 1930.
