Mark Bent calls 911 to turn himself in for murder. | Idaho Falls Police Department IDAHO FALLS — EastIdahoNews.com has obtained 911 audio of an Idaho Falls man recently convicted of first-degree murder who called police and turned himself in. Mark Bent, 43, was convicted by a jury on Dec. 17 for murdering 23-year-old Nikolas Todd Bird on Sept. 3, 2022. Bent was also convicted of using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. Shortly after the shooting, Bent called 911 to turn himself in for the murder and posted a confession to the killing on Facebook.
