Lewiston 18-year-old died after being pinned by boulder in north Idaho

Authorities were called to Northfork Drive in Ahsahka around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a post Monday on the sheriff’s office Facebook page. It was found that Sheldon Medford, of Lewiston, was pinned under a boulder, and he was declared deceased. Medford had been camping in the area at the time of the incident. Medford’s next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing. Ahsahka is an unincorporated town located just west of Orofino along the Clearwater River.
