This map shows the location of Ahsahka in Clearwater County, where an 18-year-old from Lewiston died after being pinned under a boulder Saturday evening. | Google Maps AHSAHKA (The Lewiston Tribune) — An 18-year-old from Lewiston was killed when he became pinned under a large boulder Saturday evening at Ahsahka, according to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were called to Northfork Drive in Ahsahka around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a post Monday on the sheriff’s office Facebook page. It was found that Sheldon Medford, of Lewiston, was pinned under a boulder, and he was declared deceased. Medford had been camping in the area at the time of the incident. Medford’s next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing. Ahsahka is an unincorporated town located just west of Orofino along the Clearwater River. Agencies that responded included the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, Clearwater County Ambulance Service, Orofino Fire Department and Nez Perce Tribal Police.The post Lewiston 18-year-old died after being pinned by boulder in north Idaho appeared first on East Idaho News.
