Idaho Falls man arrested after police say he shared videos of child rape and bestiality

IDAHO FALLS — A 31-year-old Idaho Falls man is facing life in prison after police say they discovered he had distributed a large amount of child pornography and videos of animals being sexually abused.
Cristian Angel Tinoco was charged with 20 counts of felony possession of child sexually exploitative material. He pleaded not guilty to all charges Tuesday after being arraigned in District Court.
According to court documents, on Jan. 17, an Idaho Falls Police detective was told about a report of child pornography that had been uploaded to the “Kik” application from an IP address in Idaho Falls.
Detectives were able to track the address to Tinoco and learned he had reportedly downloaded at least 116 videos of child pornography. Detectives say they also found 26 videos of adults involved in sex acts with animals.
For several hours, detectives conducted surveillance on Tinoco and learned where he lived and what car he drove.
They obtained a search warrant, which they executed on June 27 with the assistance of Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office.
Police reportedly stopped Tinoco as he was leaving his home. Detectives seized his cell phone and transported him to the Law Enforcement Building in Idaho Falls for an interview.
He reportedly refused to answer questions without a lawyer present.
During a search of Tinoco’s devices, detectives reportedly found very graphic and disturbing messages between Tinoco and others discussing child pornography.
Tinoco reportedly told another Kik user about his child pornography preferences, including babies and violence against children.
He reportedly distributed videos of newborns, only days old, and children up to 8 years old being raped, tortured, and forced to engage in sex acts with animals.
A warrant was issued for Tinoco’s arrest on July 9, and he was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on July 11 with a bond of $200,000.
If Tinoco posts bail, he will not be allowed to use the internet or have any contact with minor children.
He is expected to appear for a jury trial on Oct. 28. If convicted, Tinoco could face up to life in prison.
Though Tinoco has been charged with these crimes, this does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
