Annika Mercado-Drussel. | Courtesy GoFundMe REXBURG — A four-year-old girl who died in a farming accident south of Rexburg last week was a “sweet, beautiful, spunky girl,” according to a GoFundMe. Annika Mercado-Drussel died Nov. 1, 2024. A 45-year-old man from Rexburg was doing field work in a tractor when Annika, a passenger, fell from the tractor and was struck by the equipment. RELATED: Child killed in tractor accident south of Rexburg “Despite the efforts by rescue personnel, she succumb to her injuries,” the GoFundMe, which says it was organized by her grandma, states. “We are so very sad about the loss of our daughter, sister, niece, cousin, best friend, and the center of our universe.” Her obituary says she “had a big love for her family” and “a love for all animals especially horses and outdoors.” “Anyone who had the chance to meet Anni was touched dearly,” her obituary reads. “She showed everyone how to love with their whole heart. … She touched all of us in a way we cannot explain and we are forever changed because Annika loved us.” A GoFundMe was set up to help the family with the funeral and medical costs. As of Thursday evening, $15,970 had been raised. To donate, click here. The funeral service will be held on Nov. 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Archer LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends that morning from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Archer church.
