The incident happened after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rigby Police Chief Allen Fullmer said the single-vehicle crash caused a power pole to come down, which caused a fire in the brush between the Papa Murphy’s at 200 East Main Street and US-20. Police evacuated the restaurant due to the proximity of the flames. Central Fire Chief Nic White confirmed that the vehicle’s occupants were able to get out safely. The fire was put out at about 1:30 p.m. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the fire, but the restaurant was unharmed, according to White. No major injuries were reported.
