Beehive Credit Union honors retiring CEO by naming headquarters after him

REXBURG — The outgoing CEO of Beehive Federal Credit Union was honored Monday for his 37 years of service and while he may be retiring, Shane Berger will always be part of the institution.
Thaine Robinson, Beehive’s Board Chairman, surprised Berger by announcing the credit union’s Rexburg headquarters will be now be called the Shane B. Berger administration building.
“Shane did create a legacy here. Growing Beehive from $2 million to now $500 million in assets is quite an accomplishment,” Robinson said during a retirement reception. “[The Beehive Board of Directors] wanted to do something that would instill his legacy here, at all times, so from this day forward this building will be known as the Shane B. Berger administration building.”
Craig Gummow, Beehive’s new CEO, praised Berger for his leadership and decades of service.
“Shane has been the reason for Beehive’s success, and it will be up to us as management and staff, to continue the legacy he has established,” Gummow said.
In an interview with EastIdahoNews.com last February, Berger said he hopes to serve a Latter-day Saint mission during his retirement years.
