NAMPA (Idaho Statesman) — When it comes to summer concerts at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater, it’s wise to plan ahead.
Multiple shows taking place next year have been announced already at Nampa’s major outdoor music venue.
The latest? A Grammy-winning soft rocker.
Returning to the Boise area for the first time in six years, Jason Mraz and his Superband will headline Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, through fordidahocenter.com. Prices range from $39.50 (general-admission lawn) to $139.50 (reserved front-row).
Mraz is best known for his breakout hit, “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry),” from his 2002 debut studio album, “Waiting for My Rocket to Come.” Other radio standouts include “I’m Yours,” “Lucky” (a collaboration with Colbie Caillat) and “I Won’t Give Up.”
Most recently, fans have watched the multitalented singer strut his stuff on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” The episode Tuesday will mark his fifth week on the show, according to a media release. Mraz plans to “perform a quickstep to Willie Nelson’s ‘On The Road Again’ with his partner, Daniella Karagach. Mraz decided to compete on the show this season after releasing ‘Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride,’ his eighth studio album and return to pop music. ‘I Feel Like Dancing,’ the lead single, is a reminder to dance your own dance without fear, no matter what it looks like.”
“Songs appear out of a real necessity,” Mraz explained in the media release, “and this song appeared as I struggled with identity and self worth in my mid-40s. And I have to truly dance like no one’s watching.”
