Brendyn Findlay | Bannock County Jail CHUBBUCK — A 30-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted another man by dragging him outside of a trailer and fracturing a vertebra. Brendyn Carlos Findlay of Pocatello was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $50,000. According to court documents, the Chubbuck Police Department was dispatched to a home on July 10 on the 200 block of West Circle Inn Street for a report of a man who was assaulted and needed medical attention. Officers made contact with the man who was assaulted inside his RV, and he identified Findlay as the one who hurt him. The victim said Findlay came in demanding the keys to another home so that he could use the bathroom. He said that Findlay was not allowed inside that home due to a fight that occurred days before. The victim began to push Findlay out of the RV. The document states that Findlay managed to grab the other man’s foot and began dragging him out of the RV. Findlay then allegedly threatened to urinate on him. Officers spoke with Findlay, who said the victim had “Spartan kicked” him, and Findlay dragged the victim outside of the RV onto the metal steps. Findlay allegedly told officers that he had threatened to urinate on the victim. Findlay believed that the victim deserved what had happened to him, according to court documents. Findlay was detained, and officers began contacting a prosecutor to determine if he would face a misdemeanor or a felony. While waiting for the answer, Findlay discussed the situation with other officers, and his Miranda rights were read to him. The documents state that the victim’s family members arrived and began to speak to officers about previous incidents involving Findlay. A warrant for Findlay’s arrest was obtained, and he was booked into the Bannock County Jail. According to Findlay’s criminal complaint, the victim sustained a fractured vertebra. No details were given on why Findlay’s charges were filed months after the initial incident.
